Shawn Colvin... that woman. I was too much into the grammys back then, and I saw "Sunny Came Home" nominated for some awards and winning, so I was lucky to get to hear the song (back then, I didn't have internet, so it's wasn't as easy to get songs). At 19, Madonna, with the only strong album by her I have heard, that is strong enough. The first single had a great video as well, "Frozen". And country began its invasion, and who better to do that, than the living legend Garth Brooks? jajajaja, he's great. The song: "She's Gonna Make It" from his album "Sevens".
