Madonna has filed adoption papers for a child in Malawi, according to the AP. A source says that she's visiting Malawi this weekend and that a court could hear her adoption case as early as this Monday. Rumor is she is adding a little girl to her family.
The New York Daily News reported earlier this week that Madge's adoption attempt could be hindered since she is a single, dating mama. "Our official policy is that we do not encourage our children to be sent into broken homes," a senior official from Malawi's Ministry of Women and Child Welfare Development said. "Her relationships may negatively affect the adoption of Mercy."
Madge recently told a Malawi newspaper, "Many people - especially our Malawian friends - say that David should have a Malawian brother or sister. It's something I have been considering but would only do if I had the support of the Malawian people and the government."
