Johnny Depp

Officer Tom Hanson
of 21 Jump Street made Jhonny Depp a teen star. However, he could not handle the fame and it made him very irritated. After the contract with Fox television was over, Depp decided to do movies which he felt right. Since then, this “once aspiring musician” turned actor mesmerized Hollywood with his performance in movies like: Edward Scissorhands, Ed Wood, Sleepy Hollow, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Finding Neverland. Last year, The Pirates of the Caribbean: The curse of the Black Pearl was a huge success in USA.

I first saw Leonardo Dicaprio in the movie TITANIC like other million people, though it was not his first movie and he has been acting since his childhood. But Titanic proved to be the biggest blockbuster of all time and only after that movie i started my hunt for his earlier movies and obviously followed his subsequent films. What made him my favorite was the fact the release of that movie many commented that we have a resemblance and l as a teen found a sense of proud to hear that, though now i laugh at that. but the Dicaprio remained one of my favorite new generation actor specially after the movies like Gangs of New York , Catch me if you can, The Aviator, The Departed and Blood diamond to name a few.
DiCaprio’s career took off with his appearing in several commercials and educational films. He got his break on television in 1990 when he was cast in the short-lived series based on the movie Parenthood. After Parenthood, Dicaprio had bit parts on several shows, including The New Lassie and Roseanne, as well as a brief stint on the soap opera Santa Barbara, playing the young Mason Capwell.

His debut film role was Critters 3, a B-grade horror film, which later went straight to video. Soon after, in 1991, he became a recurring cast member on the hit ABC sitcom Growing Pains, playing Luke Brower, a homeless boy who is taken in by the Seavers.

His breakthrough came in 1992, when he beat out hundreds of other boys for the role of Toby Wolff in This Boy's Life, co-starring Robert De Nero and Ellen Barkin. His performance as the troubled, abused teenager was critically acclaimed and Hollywood soon took notice. Later in 1993, he co-starred as the mentally handicapped brother to Johnny Depp in What's Eating Gilbert Grape. His performance earned him both Academy Award and Golden Globe nominations for best supporting actor.
The move from "star" to "superstar" came when Dicaprio played Jack Dawson in the 1997 blockbuster Titanic, alongside Kate Winslet as Rose DeWitt Bukater, which soon became the highest grossing film of all time and received 11 Oscars

Apart from the movies he is a very responsible human being and does his bit for the mother earth, Spends a lot in charity and campaining against the Global warming.

Depp and Paradis grow grapes and have wine making facilities in their vineyard in Plan-de-la-Tour north of Saint-Tropez.[19][50] Known for a fondness of French wines, among Depp's favourites are the Bordeaux wines Château Calon-Ségur, Château Cheval-Blanc and Château Pétrus, and the Burgundy wine Domaine de la Romanée-Conti. Interviewed in Madame Figaro, Depp stated, "With those wines, you reach nirvana".[51] Along with Sean Penn, John Malkovich and Mick Hucknall, Depp co-owns the Parisian restaurant-bar Man Ray, located near the Champs-Élysées.[

Johnny Depp and Tim Burton

Johnny Depp and Tim Burton

Johnny Depp and Tim Burton collaborated together for seven films, beginning with Johnny Depp's breakout role in Edward Scissorhands (1990), opposite Winona Ryder and Vincent Price. Depp's next movie with Burton was the 1994 film, Ed Wood. Once producer Scott Rudin said, "Basically Johnny Depp is playing Tim Burton in all his movies," though Burton disapproved of this comment. Depp, however agrees with Rudin's statement. According to Johnny Depp, Edward Scissorhands represented Tim Burton's inability to communicate as a teenager. Ed Wood reflected Burton's relationship with Vincent Price.

Johnny Depp and Tim BurtonJohnny Depp's next movie his third according to the collaboration with Burton was the dark Sleepy Hollow (1999) in the role of Ichabod Crane, opposite Christina Ricci. Sleepy Hollow showcased Ichabod's feelings that reflected Tim Burton's battle with the Hollywood studio system. For this performance, Johnny Depp took inspiration from Angela Lansbury, Roddy McDowall and Basil Rathbone. Johnny Depp once said, "I always thought of Ichabod as a very delicate, fragile person who was maybe a little too in touch with his feminine side, like a frightened little girl."

Johnny Depp and Tim BurtonJohnny Depp after 1999 again worked with Tim Burton in 2005 when he had his two releases the first of which was Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. In this movies Johnny Depp played the character's hair on Anna Wintour. The film was a box office success and received positive critical reaction, although Gene Wilder, who played Willy Wonka in the 1971 film, initially opposed this version. Charlie and the Chocolate Factory was that released in July was followed in September by Corpse Bride, for which Johnny Depp gave voice to the character Victor Van Dort.

Johnny Depp and Tim BurtonSweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street in 2007 was Johnny and Tim's next release and the sixth one according to the collaboration. It won Johnny Depp his second major award, the Golden Globe for Best Actor in a Musical or Comedy as well as a nomination for the Academy Award for Best Actor. For this movie Johnny Depp worked very hard.

Johnny Depp and Tim BurtonTim Burton first gave him an original cast recording of the 1979 stage musical in 2000. Although Johnny Depp was not a fan of the genre but he grew to like the tale's musical treatment. He cited Peter Lorre in Mad Love (1935) as his main influence for the role, and practiced the songs his character would have to perform while filming Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End. Though Johnny Depp had performed in musical groups, he was initially unsure that he would be able to sustain Stephen Sondheim's lyrics.

Johnny Depp and Tim BurtonThen Depp recorded demos of himself in West Hollywood, working with Bruce Witkin to shape his vocals without a qualified voice coach. The next and the last one of Depp-Burton collaboration is the upcoming Alice in Wonderland (2010). In this movie Depp will play the Mad Hatter, alongside long time collaborator, Helena Bonham Carter, Anne Hathaway and Alan Rickman.
