Party-list group gives away free condoms on Valentine's Day

The Pro-Reproductive Health (RH) party-list group, Akbayan gathered at the Mega-Q Mart (formerly Nepa-Q Mart) along EDSA to give out free condoms to vendors and market goers Valentine's Day, 2011.

Despite the opposition coming from the Catholic Church on the distribution of condoms, the Party continued to distribute the materials in an effort to inform people on reproductive rights and secure support for the passage of the RH bill.

The group said the activity was in continuation of the Department of Health's (DOH) initiative under then Secretary Esperanza Cabral, last year.

The DOH earlier said on reports that they will not distribute condoms this year.

The Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) earlier encouraged the DOH not to dispense condoms, saying that it sends a wrong message to the youth encouraging premarital sex.

Rhian Ramos on Topless Scene in "My Valentine Girls"

In her Valentine movie with Richard Gutierrez "My Valentine Girls", Rhian Ramos did a topless scene.

"Oo, pero parang bare back," Rhian said during the presscon of the movie last February 4, 2011.

She added that she covered herself, though.

"Hindi naman, may nilagay naman akong pangtakip. "Nakakahiya naman, makikita ni Richard yung ..." says Rhian.

She further detailed,

"Walang malisya, parang kapatid ko na 'yan. Dapat nga tinanggal ko pa. Hindi, joke lang!

"Hindi pero, ayun parang nakakahiya naman at tsaka di ba after a long time na hindi kami nagkita, naghe-hello na agad ako, di ba?

"So tinakpan ko naman pero very skimpy pa rin yung suot ko nun kasi halos ito lang," she points to her chest, "At tsaka hindi puwedeng umabot sa sides [ang takip] kasi makikita din ng kamera kasi iikot ako e, di ba?"

"May tinupi-tupi ako na face towel tapos parang triangle siya na ganun. Then nilagyan ko ng Leukoplast [tape].", according to the Kapuso star.

Masakit?

"Nung tinanggal ko, oo. Pero kailangan ng pain para sa art," sabay tawa ni Rhian.

May kissing scene sila ni Richard sa movie ("Soulmates" episode) na ipapalabas sa Miyerkules, February 9.

"Meron tapos since movie siya, kinunan ng mga ilang anggulo so medyo nakakatawa, nung ginagawa namin natawa din kami."

Ang isa pang leading lady ni Richard sa nabanggit na trilogy movie ("Gunaw" episode), ay si Eugene Domingo. Natulala raw ito after ng kissing scene with Richard. Si Rhian kaya?

"Parang nahiya ako ulit kasi parang... after all these years naman parang natanggal na yung hiya ko kay Chard, di ba? Kasi nung medyo bagets pa ako tinitingnan niya pa lang ako parang... parang nahihiya na ako sa kanya."

Si Richard ang very first onscreen kiss ni Rhian noon sa Captain Barbell ng GMA 7.

Bakit nahihiya siya ulit?

"Kasi, I don't know, very intimate naman kasi talaga humalik ng ibang tao, di ba? Tapos

lalung-lalo na hindi ko naman alam kung ano ang relationship status niya ngayon tapos, parang ganun.

"So parang I just wanna make sure everything's okay, iyon."

Nahiya ba siya kay Solenn Heussaff na isa pa ring leading lady sa movie ("BBFF" episode) at rumored girlfriend ngayon ni Richard?

"Hindi naman, kasi I mean, okay lang kasi alam ko din naman na hinalikan din naman ni Chard si Ate Uge (Eugene) at tsaka hinalikan rin niya si Lovi (Poe na nasa "BBFF" episode rin), so feeling ko okay lang naman.

"Parang alam naming lahat what we were signing up for, na magse-share talaga kami ng leading man.

Kay DJ Mo Twister, hindi siya nahiya na may kissing scene siya with Richard?

"Hindi kasi trabaho ko ito."

Nagpalaam ba siya kay Mo?

"Hindi rin."

Alam niya na may kissing scene?

"Siguro naman kasi Valentine movie ito, di ba? Kailangan, love story ito... I mean kahit naman noong Ilumina, hinalikan ko si Aljur (Abrenica), di ba?"

Walang dos and don'ts si Mo sa kanya?

"I think naman when it comes to my job dapat ako nagdedesisyon nun."

May right na ba si Mo na magbigay sa kanya ng dos and don'ts?

"Ah actually let say, kunwari naging kami? Parang hindi niya pa rin puwede akong pagbawalan kasi career ko 'to.

"Ewan ko, para sa akin, I mean... yung mommy ko nga dati ayaw niya na nagki-kissing scene ako pero in-explain ko, 'Mommy trabaho ko ito.'

"At tsaka gusto ko na pagdating ko dun — professional ako, ganun.

"So wala, parang pagdating sa work ko, gusto ko ako talaga yung nagdedesisyon."

Ayon kay Rhian, hindi pa sila mag-on ni Mo. Pero base sa obserbasyon ng iba, parang kapag nagsasalita raw si Mo ay tila sila na? Na kulang na lang ay sabihin nitong sila na nga?

"Yun nga yun, kulang na lang sabihin niya. E hindi pa naman niya sinasabi so I think we agree on that."

Sa scale of 1 to 100, nasaan na sila ni Mo in terms of having a relationship?

"Ah... 60?"

Sixty lang?

"Wala pa naman, e."

Kailan magiging 100?

"Parang feeling ko it's a question of patience naman din, e."

On his side?

"Yeah, siyempre! Kasi ayun, parang big deal para sa akin is patience, support. Kapag nakita ko na yung parang lahat ng hinahanap ko, I guess okay na."

Hindi pa ipinapakita lahat ni Mo ang hinahanap niya?

"Patience, tingnan natin."

So iyon na lang ang pumipigil sa kanya para sagutin na si Mo?

"I dunno, I dunno kasi ano e, parang marami ka talagang mga bagay na hindi makikita until siguro after a long period of time.

"Parang I want to be sure naman na pag nagka-boyfriend ako at least sure ako about it. Na pag sinabi kong kunwari 'I love you!' o kunwari 'I love you, too!' sure ako, yung hindi sasabihin ko na lang kasi para masabi lang, parang ganu'n."

Hindi sila mag-on; mag-MU ba sila?

"I would think so."

So meron silang mutual understanding ni MO?

"Yeah I guess."
