Kathy Freston's New Book Inspires Oprah And Staff To Go Vegan

In the Oprah Winfrey show today, a special guests Michael Pollan and Kathy Freston shared their thoughts about food you eat. Later part of the show, Oprah and her 378 staffers were challenge to go vegan for one-week. Also, Lisa Ling shows to audience how beef processing plant looks like.

Oprah has been inspired by Kathy Freston’s book Quantum Wellness: A Practical and Spiritual Guide to Health and Happiness back in 2008 when she went into 21-day vegan cleanse. In cleansing made by Oprah, she didn’t just exclude meat products from her diet but also caffeine, sugar, alcohol and gluten. Now, the one-week vegan challenge of Oprah and her staffers were inspired by Kathy Freston’s new book entitled Veganist.

Angelina Jolie has knocked Oprah Winfrey out of the #1 spot on the Forbes Magazine list of the 100 Most Powerful Celebrities. Angie, according to Forbes, made $27 million last year, had the 3rd most web mentions and the 5th most press mentions overall. The formula doesn't take into account how many of those mentions were derisive, but I'm guessing about 90% of the web ones were at least a tad negative. Lots of people hate the bitch. Not as many as hate Kate Gosselin, but still.

And no, don't worry - Kate Gosselin is not on the 100 Most Powerful Celebrities list. Neither is Octomom. The apocalypse is not yet upon us. Next year could be a different story.
